Minor Subjects (2026)-Ongoing

Minor Subjects is an ongoing series of digital portraits and collages responding to the experiences of children impacted by immigration raids, detention, deportation, and family separation in the United States.

The title considers the child as both a minor and a subject: a subject of the portrait, but also someone made subject to political systems and decisions far beyond their control. Through imagery associated with childhood, vulnerability, place, and memory, the series considers what is taken from children when they are forced to encounter borders, enforcement, separation, and loss too early.
